Aloha beloved 'charn'. Sending you waves of love on the currents of grace.”

–Angela Stringhini, UK

“The positivity in this school offers a living connection, a true, respectful, creative and loving conversation with Farida Sharan, not a sales call, no pressure, just a conversation to see if we are right for you and you are right and true for me and the school that is about my personal evolution to become all I can be, not just to learn information and pass a test.”
–Eloretta Wedderburn, Jamaica

“Farida has been a great friend and teacher. Her incredible commitment and persistence in bringing the very best to every situation is an inspiration. This is never more evident than in her relationship with her students as she provides them with what they truly need to develop themselves physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. She has tcrafted a process that supports the whole being in health and spiritual evolution.”
–Bill Fanning, Naturopath graduate, Colorado

“I love you so much and realize when I am away from you and the school how much it has shaped me to be the person I am today, I am so fortunate that I started at a young age where I was able to mold and reform myself into this sculpture of example. God chose you to be in my path and my one wish is to lead by example to become a good person and a good Naturopath."

A Brief History of Farida Sharan

Nourished in childhood freedom in the pristine wilderness of mountains, ocean and abundant forests of British Columbia, Farida moved to California where she participated creatively as a sculptor and fashion designer during the sixties. Seeking to explore the mystery of life led to explorations with spiritual teachers while studying bodywork and natural therapies.

Searching for an answer to a medical breast cancer diagnosis with Jethro Kloss’s book, Back of Eden, Farida chose fasting instead of radical surgery. She camped in nature near the Mammoth hot springs in the California Sierras with her children, and opened new pathways of understanding of the mystery and purpose of life.

Self healing continued in Mount Shasta with the spiritual teacher, Pearl, of the White Brotherhood, who gave her the mantra, “I am the Temple of the Living God.’

In 1975, after two years of a vegetarian lifestyle, utilizing Self Reflexology, yoga and spiritual practices, she continued healing the causes of breast cancer in her multi-layered emotional, social, mental and spiritual interconnected being. A move to Palm Springs to manage a Health Spa at a luxury resort included advanced studies of Polarity Therapy that integrated energetic dimensions into her therapeutic skills.

Farida received a mentoring connection with Edmund Bordeaux Szekeley, author of the 'Essene Gospel of Peace' in 1976 which inspired further healing with a 40 day fast on sun teas and fruit at Rainbow Island, a desert vegan retreat near Escondido, California, based on the Wigmore Hippocrates healing lifestyle. An invitation to live and work at the Healing Waters Hot Spring Hippocrates Healing Centre in Arizona developed further skills with living foods and water therapies.

A move to Cambridge, England in 1977 led to the founding of the School of Natural Medicine approved by the Institute of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, and honored by patrons Countess Sally Baldwin, Viscount Lord David Ednam ( Earl of Dudley), Dr. Raymond Christopher and Dr. Bernard Jensen.

During Farida's forty years of practice and teaching she also organized conferences in Cambridge, bringing major world teachers of Iridology and Natural Medicine to the United Kingdom, including Dr. Christopher, Dr. Bernard Jensen, Willy Hauser, Josef Deck, Dorothy Hall, Harri Wolf and Denny Johnson. The integrated sharing of their lifework discoveries supported the evolution of quality professional trainings based on the embodiment of the philosophical principles of purification, regeneration and transformation Farida experienced in her own Self Healing.

From 1988 onward from the School of Natural Medicine base in Boulder, Colorado, Farida received invitations to share the teachings in South Africa, Caribbean islands, Malaysia, Australia, South Africa, Canada, and Iceland. She also held Immersion Retreats in India, Puerto Rico, Thailand, USA and the Philippines, and hosted yearly Summer Schools and Integrated Naturopathy Immersions in Boulder.

2020 celebrates worldwide One to One Online Mentored Study personally mentored by Farida Sharan enhanced by Personal and Family Healing Paths. Integrated Immersion Retreats in sublime locations offer opportunity for dynamic small classes to achieve Certificate and Diploma level trainings and participate in Longevity and Wellness Lifestyle Healing programs.

“Even with a weight loss of over 50 pounds, the before and after photos only show physical transformation, but Self Healing is much more. Since enrolling in 2014, the amount of change within and without seems almost impossible to put into words. I am forever grateful for Farida and the School of Natural Medicine.

Since a young child, I had a stigma around food and fluctuated in weight, from binging to anorexia and back again… a seemingly endless loop. I never understood this pattern until Farida gave me the tools I needed.

During my healing process, I went through an incredibly tough year facing myself and was truly tested. Farida was there for me during this time of need and pushed me onto the path of my truth and living with purpose as I learned the skills of Flower Essences, Essential Oils, healthy nutrition with Healing Diets, Reflexology, Iridology, Herbal Medicine and so much more with Online Courses, Self Healing and Immersion Retreats.

Graduating in the Spain Immersion in 2017 gave me a goal, a purpose and the tools I needed. With the support from my family, friends, and Farida, I regained confidence and independence for a fresh start. Spiritual and emotional wisdom unfolded naturally as I progressed with embodying the teachings. I am thankful to Farida and the school and I love to share my story.

The school teaches amazing information to heal yourself and others but it also takes you deep within yourself so that no matter what life throws at you, you have the tools to get through and choose the positive life habits inspired by my studies.

I enjoy creating healthy products for my online apothecary, growing a practice and a health business where I can assist others to become the best versions of themselves.”

“Self-healing is a lifestyle that inspires me to never stop striving to be the best version of myself.” - Miranda Palmer

"I love the study of herbs. They connect me with nature. Nature heals. This I know because my heart tells me so. After our magical day at the Denver Botanical Gardens, we had the final day of being mad scientists in the herbal pharmacy / dispensary and it felt like the best day of my life!"
- Gabriel Riley, New York

"My mind calmed down as soon as I began my Self Healing as my body felt immediately better due to diet changes,  increase of healthy nutrients from herbs, and Naturopathy cleansing treatments. Vegan foods gave me amazing courage, power and energy to overcome fears.

It is a blessing to have this time now to get in the routine of detoxifying and nourishing my body without distractions. The universe is providing me with everything I need to get to optimum health, and grateful doesn't even begin to describe the feeling of thankfulness for all I have received!"

Dani Espinosa, School of Natural Medicine UK student and teachers assistant with Farida Sharan ND

Dani Espinosa BA, Master Reflexologist

"After reading the courses offered, I knew immediately that I am the passionate and open-minded student to thrive with the prestigious curriculum and professors the school offer.s

Exploring trauma in Essential Oils Therapeutic Anointing classes with Young Living Essential Oils was beneficial to my healing and growth. Farida helped me gently unravel the minor and major traumas forming a co-dependent version of myself with an over-active sympathetic nervous system that focused on survival. I am so grateful for the space and opportunity to begin to understand on a deeper level with the new awareness in my life.

Learning I am not a victim of trauma  helped me make empowered choices as I notice answers and guidance lie within body sensations that allow me to connect on a deeper level. Sensing my own Vagus Nerve helped me feel trauma in my body and this in turn allowed me to deeply connect as a therapist." - Dani Espinosa, Colorado

Brigitte Mars AHG

“Herbal Medicine Immersion is a practical, yet spiritual class where I learned not only the reality of creating my own herbal dispensary but also the etheric communication the herbs offer as long as we take the time to listen. It was interesting to learn about possible paradigms people may have that could be helped by recommending herbs.”
Avery Mason, Hawaii, Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine student.

"We jumped right into the world of herbs, learning the herbs and acknowledging their presence. The energy of each plant and their healing properties are truly beautiful. I was able to understand their power on an energetic level, being to being. We also went into detail about running our own herbal pharmacy. Wow, what work, love and devotion! I am strengthened in my respect for all the good work herbalists and healers do.”

Marco Chung-Shu Lam BA MSc LAC

"A fantastic experience! The tools learned in the Herbal Immersion over 4 days far exceeded the knowledge from multiple weeks of studying herbs. We confronted fears about herbs, learned how to run and sustain an herbal dispensary, formulated, harvested and dried herbs, explored principles of herbal medicine and more.

We sat with 7 different mystery herbs, recording everything we felt, smelled, saw or heard on physical and deep intuitive levels and this communion between plant and human consciousness opened a field of trust in divine and subtle energies. Most of us were on point or close to identifying each herb and all had deep inner knowing of the plant's properties and principles.”

Graduates Accreditation
Accreditation is a question every inquirer wants to understand. Our Diploma graduates qualify for membership to numerous accrediting, approval and regulatory bodies with the understanding that experiencing the healing power of nature is a human right, not one bestowed by individual institutions.
All of the topics covered in our Diploma courses are ones that can be freely practiced within ‘common law’. Some herbs are regulated in the UK and EU, and our Herbal Medicine course may, in the future, require a bridge course if herbal regulations change. All students, from any country, can become a member of the American Herbalist Guild or other world herbal organizations. See below for further details.
The accrediting bodies and associations listed below offer the many benefits of sharing community, supporting each others work, protecting the role of Natural Physicians as a group, reduced insurance rates, conferences for continuing education, sharing of pertinent changes to the profession and access to current clinical studies and research.
In addition to the personal benefits of membership, strength of numbers is vital for the continuing protection of Natural Medicine.
